The Ultimate Windows 8 Experience: Microsoft Surface Pro
With the release of Windows 8 in 2012, Microsoft made a bold statement – they finally made an operating system that could be used by tablet users who got lots of new apps and a Start Screen with bright tiles.
Then Microsoft came up with their Surface Tablets that had innovative keyboards and built-in track pads “click in” to turn it into a laptop.
And now, finally, they’ve come up with the Surface Pro, which upon first sight, seems like an improved version of their Surface RT (which didn’t exactly sell like hot cakes in the market). However, with their Surface Pro, Microsoft promises the ultimate experience for Windows 8 users, giving them the functionality and usability of laptops, desktops and tablets, all rolled into one.
As for the tablet’s specifications, well, it weighs heavy at 2 pounds and is a bit thicker than the Surface RT (0.53 to 0.37 inch). On the plus side, though, it has a 10.6-inch screen, a full USB port, a mini-HDMI port, 4GB of RAM and it gives you two options of storage – 64GB at $899 or 128GB at $999. Made from the very durable VaporMg, it can survive the worst of drops too.
With a faster Core i5 processor and the complete version of Windows 8, the Surface Pro might sound like a laptop, and maybe that’s because it’s priced like one too – $1,000 with the keyboard.
It will make a public appearance in the markets on 9th February, but will it meet Microsoft’s target expectations? We don’t know that, but one thing’s for sure – it makes for one hell of a visual treat!
